This two-hour introductory session will equip participants with the tools to spot the signs of economic abuse and confidently support survivors. Participants will explore the difference between financial abuse, economic abuse and financial exclusion, and will gain understanding around the power and control dynamics present in each using case study examples. This training aims to shed light on a form abuse which is so prevalent and damaging but rarely acknowledged.
This training will be delivered by SOLACE Women’s Aid, please see below the learning objectives that will be covered in this session:
- The definitions and dynamics of financial/economic abuse and financial exclusion
- Impacts of financial/economic abuse on the survivor
- Barriers to disclosing financial/economic abuse
- Recognising and responding to financial/economic abuse
Suitable as Level 3 training for Health Professionals.
This training is one of the courses included in the partnership’s pilot for charging for non-attendance.
